Meet the girl behind the camera

Hi, I’m Natascha! I’ve had a love for photography since I was a teenager. With my high school graduation money I bought myself a Nikon DSLR and went to work for a popular wedding photographer in Utah to learn the art of creating beautiful images from fleeting moments. Second shooting and editing photos/video was my first full time job.

After a few years in wedding photography, I moved back to CA and began to focus on portraiture. I loved the drama of high fashion photography, specifically. Working in studios under talented photographers, I developed knowledge of indoor lighting and set work. However, I was young, and I listened to the people in my life who were telling me that the path of an artist is paved in poverty. They said I should be more “practical”, so I put down my dreams and went to a business college. I got a job with a respectable 401-k and health insurance package, but after just 5 years of wearing slacks in the corporate world, I burned out. I suffered the consequences of going against the path of my heart and learned that to live happily and healthily I must stay 100% true to myself.

I left my cubical life and put my energy towards healing and rediscovering myself. Leading me to become a 500hr RYT and a certified clinical herbalist. I was teaching yoga to people with disabilities and selling my herbal products when the pandemic happened. I picked up my camera again to cope with the madness of 2020. Finding solace in taking macro images of plants. I created a series called “Plants as Peoples”. This quickly reignited the fire inside of me that burns for photography, as I remembered that weird little artsy girl who drew leopard print on her face every day and effortlessly followed her creativity.

In 2020 I started a school portrait business and contracted with local preschools. In 2021 my life completely changed when I asked for a divorce. From that place of heartbreak my Embodiment Photography was born. My business model pivoted into empowering women to feel strong and beautiful through imagery. This particular chapter of my photography has significantly helped me through my own process of letting go and embracing my wholeness. Another niche of mine is working with entrepreneurs to elevate their dreams, as I work towards mine. All through imagery. My work has a strong emphasis on upliftment and growth. Leveling up. Here we go!

Working with me is sure to spark dormant creativity or feed an active flame. I’ve been told that the passion I have for what I do makes people “buzz”. I’ll never stop again.
